Details about "DO YOU ACCEPT" responses:
ABR does not knowingly take Brittany Blends. Dogs that have treatable medical conditions are accepted as well as special needs pets if foster space is available. ABR does not accept Brittanys with a known incident of biting.

DESCRIBE HOUSING USED FOR RESCUES:
All of ABR's Brittanys are fostered by our volunteers in their homes. Since ABR is a national organization, we have volunteers across United States and Canada. Our dogs are evaluated, any medical issues and altering are taken care of by the foster using their area vets, before being placed on the American Brittany Rescue website for adoption. On occasion High Risk dogs are taken from shelters and placed in a boarding facility until a foster home opens up.

Details about "PROCEDURES" responses:
An application is required as well as a home visit by an ABR volunteer before adoption along with with a vet check. ABR DOES NOT place dogs on a first come first served basis, but by matching personality of the dog to the prospective family/person. The dogs best interest always come first. We are trying our best to make these FOREVER adoptions to homes where the dog will be considered a part of the family. Adopters are required to sign an Adoption Contract.
|
Rescue's policy regarding SHELTER FEES:
In general ABR does not to pay shelter fees. However, if the shelter has vaccinated/altered the dog we will usually reimburse just those expenses. We expect not to be charged a "profit" by the shelter. This is done on a case by case basis.
