Breed Description:

The Domestic Ferret is a small, low to the ground mammal usually weighing less than 5 pounds (males 2-4 pounds; females 1-2+ pounds). Ferrets come in a variety of patterns and colors (42 to be exact) with the most common being sable, red-eyed white, chocolate and silver.

We are a no-kill facility. Ferrets are euthanized only when there are terminal health issues that can't be treated.


DESCRIBE HOUSING USED FOR RESCUES:

All ferrets are housed in a home environment in spacious black epoxy-coated wire cages with plenty of sleep sacks, hammocks, baby blankets for their comfort. They receive daily out time as well as lots of love and attention.

Ferrets that come into the shelter are not separated and adopted together.

The adoption process requires two visits to the Center.

Rescue's policy regarding SHELTER FEES:

We have been very fortunate working with the Humane Societies in our area and have not had to pay any shelter fees for the ferrets we receive. If this policy would change, we would have to take it under advisement of our Board of Directors.
