Breed Description:
The standard sheltie is 14 to 16" to the top of the shoulder and they weigh around 20 pounds. Shelties can vary in size from 10 pounds to the size of small collies. Sheltie colors are sable and white, blue merle (blue, white, tan), tri (black, white, tan), shaded sable (shaded with dark brown/black), Bi-blue (blue, white), Bi-black (black, white), and sable merle. Shelties can be mistaken for not being friendly because they are reserved towards strangers.

Details about "PROCEDURES" responses:
All rescues are vet checked, updated on vacs, spayed/neutered, medical issues addressed, and temperament tested. An adoption application and home visit are required. We check references. There is a 2 week trial period and if all goes well, we require adoptees to sign an adoption contract. The contract includes that at any time they can not keep the rescue he/she must be returned to us.

Rescue's policy regarding SHELTER FEES:
We are grateful that most of the shelters we work with do not charge us a fee. Fees are contingent on circumstances.
