Breed Description:

Largest domestic cat...VERY people oriented. Males will be up to 20+ pounds...females will be up to 14#'s or so. Of course you can always have your overweight ones . Very large boning, large ears with lynx tips and fringe, LARGE bushy tails that will touch the back at the shoulder area when laid on the back. They have snowshoes which is the long hair between the foot pads. Will have a large full ruff (comes with age as does the bushiness of the tail), will have long hair on the britches and fringe on the sides of the body. Coons will be in any color EXCEPT pointed like a Siamese. Large eyes also. This breeds nicknames are "Gentle Giants" and "Dogs in cat costumes" as they are very dog like in personality.

DESCRIBE HOUSING USED FOR RESCUES:

All cats go to foster homes till placement. Pictures of animals wanting admittance to the rescue are posted for a panel of judges to vote on and then the approved cats will have all medical done and placed in the foster homes.

Details about "PROCEDURES" responses:

All cats will be spayed/neutered, wormed, tested for Feluk/FIV before accepted into foster homes so of course everything is done when adopted out.
