Details about "DO YOU ACCEPT" responses:

We do not generally accept bite cases but many small breeds may be known to be "nippy" when they are scared (especially Chihuahua's) so those cases are considered a bit different and we do take those cases.

Details about "PROCEDURES" responses:

All applicants must have an approved application to meet any of our adoptables. Once they have an approved application we will set up a home visit for a meet and greet to see if everyone is a good fit and we feel that this adoption is a good placement.
Anyone filling out an application that has current companion animals is encouraged to have a one week "foster trial period" to make sure new companions will get along long term with existing ones. Applicants that do not have their current companion animals up to date with shots and vaccinations with a solid vetting history will NOT BE considered. One Life at a Time feels your pet's health should be a top priority.

Rescue's policy regarding SHELTER FEES:

One Life at a Time Small Breed Rescue generally does not pay pull fees for animals they take in, unless they have extensive vetting work completed such as heartworm treatment, surgeries for injury, or disease. If the shelter has aleady spayed or neutered an animal on their own account, we will gladly reimburse them for these services.
