Breed Description:
Small, completely white terrier with erect tail and ears. Coat is straight and coarse. Height of about 11 inches at the withers and 15-22 pounds. Friendly, happy, outgoing and very energetic when young. Extreme shyness is seen in some puppymill dogs.

Bite cases are no longer accepted into our program. Westie mixes are accepted if space is available. Picture is required when inquiring about surrendering Westie mixes.

DESCRIBE HOUSING USED FOR RESCUES:
Foster care only by experienced Westie owners. Our program in unique in that we only have one Westie in each foster home in order to provide the Westie the attention and training it needs.

Details about "PROCEDURES" responses:
All dogs spayed/neutered before adoption. All dogs are also updated on shots, fecal and heartworm tested, microchipped and groomed. If the placement does not work out the Westie MUST come back to the rescue. Home visits done before adoption. Application and placement contract required.
